Simpson Venom Helmet Gloss Black

Great service from firestorm

I bought my Simpson Venom last week, purely based on looks because I love its styling. While I still love the look of it, a few things have made me wish I never bought it: 1) The outer shell dimensions. I bought this helmet to replace my battered Arai, and although the Simpson fits perfectly, I can't get over how physically big it is compared to my Arai. It looks huge in comparison. 2) The inner drop down sun visor. I feel this is just a gimmick, as although the main visor stayed perfectly clear with the Pinlock insert attached, the drop down visor steams up instantly, rendering it 100% useless. I have to add that this was only while trying the helmet on indoors, so it might be totally different out in the real world riding a bike, but I'm not instilled with confidence that this would be the case, otherwise why would you also need a Pinlock insert on the main visor? 3) The main visor changing mechanism. Despite following a YouTube tutorial where the demonstrator made it look a piece of cake, I found removing the main visor and reattaching it extremely difficult, even after 5 or 6 removals and reattachments. The plastic parts of the visor that attach to the mechanism are nothing more than plastic stumps made of the same material as the visor, and I feel that the heavy handed wiggling about and pushing/pulling required to remove/reattach the visor will eventually lead to bits of brittle plastic snapping off.

Lovely helmet beautiful finish very comfortable came with pinlock insert and a lot lighter than my previous agv. The service from firestorm was brilliant despite the europe wide lockdown stranding their stock in Italy they went above and beyond to rearrange transport to get the stuff to them and as soon as it did they dispatched my helmet on next day delivery. Cant recommend firestorm highly enough and their prices are amazing too.
